Hello all, I currently have several clients All Windows 2008 x64 and 2008 R2. All jobs get part way through a backup and fail with that status code 14, cant find much on the searches if anyone can help me out that would be good. My Configuration is All NBU Master and Media server are Server 2008 R2. NBU is at Version 7, Should I be looking at version 7.0.1 We use MSDO for all backups. Below is a detailed job status for one of the clients 10/15/2010 6:00:42 PM - started 10/15/2010 7:23:55 PM - requesting resource STU 10/15/2010 7:23:55 PM - requesting resource aucsdcsrv087.NBU_CLIENT.MAXJOBS.srv803 10/15/2010 7:23:55 PM - requesting resource aucsdcsrv087.NBU_POLICY.MAXJOBS.TAHGenericFileServerPolicy 10/15/2010 7:23:57 PM - granted resource aucsdcsrv087.NBU_CLIENT.MAXJOBS.srv803 10/15/2010 7:23:57 PM - granted resource aucsdcsrv087.NBU_POLICY.MAXJOBS.TAHGenericFileServerPolicy 10/15/2010 7:23:57 PM - granted resource MediaID=@aaaa9;DiskVolume=PureDiskVolume;DiskPool=Pool;Path=PureDiskVolume;StorageServer=auctahsrv914;MediaServer=srv914 10/15/2010 7:23:57 PM - granted resource STU 10/15/2010 7:23:58 PM - estimated 0 Kbytes needed 10/15/2010 7:24:01 PM - started process bpbrm (1224) 10/15/2010 7:24:10 PM - connecting 10/15/2010 7:24:14 PM - connected; connect time: 00:00:04 10/15/2010 7:24:20 PM - Info auctahsrv914(pid=4844) Using OpenStorage client direct to backup from client srv803 to srv914 10/15/2010 7:24:29 PM - begin writing 10/15/2010 8:08:06 PM - Error bptm(pid=4844) image copy failed: error 2060017: system call failed 10/15/2010 8:08:07 PM - Error bptm(pid=4844) image copy failed: error 2060017: system call failed 10/15/2010 8:08:20 PM - Critical bptm(pid=4844) sts_close_handle failed: 2060017 system call failed 10/15/2010 8:08:22 PM - Info srv914(pid=4844) StorageServer=PureDisk:srv914; Report=PDDO Stats for (srv914): scanned: 32474102 KB, stream rate: 25.85 MB/sec, CR sent: 4349240 KB, dedup: 86.6%, cache hits: 0 (0.0%) 10/15/2010 8:08:22 PM - Critical bptm(pid=4844) sts_close_server failed: error 2060005 object is busy, cannot be closed 10/15/2010 8:08:54 PM - Error bpbrm(pid=1224) could not send server status message 10/15/2010 8:08:59 PM - end writing; write time: 00:44:30 file write failed(14)

Hi

I have a similar case open with the support, I am not sure what is happening with my case though... I suggest you do the same. We are running NetBackup 7.0.1 so I don't think that will help solving this issue... it solve quite a few other problems though...

I have seen quite a lot of these strange issue like status 13, 14, 213 and 800 during backup status 84 213, 800 and 2074 during SLP duplication when using media server dedup pools or pure disk pools which seems to be hard to solve for the support...

Kind Regards
Andreas

Do what Andreas suggested - open a support call.

FYI, it ended up being checkpoint backups that was causing the jobs to fail for me.

After turning it off, all of my Client-Side dedupe jobs work flawlessly.

I'm now working with support to figure out why checkpoints cause the failure.

Thanks!

I've just started seeing thin in one of my PDDO backups using client side dedupe. I checked my policy and checkpointing is not enabled...

did you get an update from symantec?

I did find this but I'm using PDDO and have 17TB free.
