Status code 5407 for oracle rac backup

Hello,

I am trying to backup an oracle rac in a vmware – srm environment. Fully randomly – or I cannot tell the reason – I get 5407 error, although database status is open. After a shutdown – startup in oracle, simptom disappears.

Did anyone faced with similar error?

Environment is NBU 7.6.0.1, vmware is 5.1.0, and ora is 11.2.

When you say the database is open, does that related to all the instances in the rac ?

I would get the DBA to check the alert logs to see if one of the instances was not open at the time of the issue

Could you explain the srm setup ? think that might be part of the issue here

Please post the rman log, assume this is an oracle backup

It seems that NetBackup didn't detect oracle status correctly, maybe it's related to your configuration.
