Storage Expiry Deletions for NetBackup Migrated Archive Data

Thought I'd throw this one out to the forum before I raise a call. This is an environment with EV 7.0.1 configured only for FSA and NBU 6.0 MP5 (and yes I'm fully aware how old both of those versions are).

This is a question brought up in relation to PCI - DSS compliance

I know that if the data was retained on disk that when Storage Expiry does its scheduled run it will report back with Event ID:6604 specifying exactly how many items were deleted but when these items in question have been migrated to NBU is the data actually deleted from tape or is it just marked as rewritable?

If anyone out there can shed some light on this that would be most helpful.

In case of tape backup, NetBackup only erase metadata of backup image from catalog when exiration time of backup image comes. Data on tape is readable until it is overwritten.
