Hi My storage unit got full which is based on basic disk . Its size was around 5Gb. I do have almost 8.5 TB of unallocated free space. My understanding was that this storage unit will expand itself automatically when it reaches to its full but looks like it is not. Can someone please tell that how i can increase the size of storage unit ? Do i need to resize the paritions on my netbackup device ? Are storage units based on the partition sizes ? i have attached my 5250 partition screenshot . kindly if someone can tell solution.

thanks

@samjohn0445 you must allocate the unallocated space to MSDP or AdvancedDisk. It cannot expand automatically.

Netbackup uses disk as given by the underlying OS,  Netbackup will not extend a disk by itself.

Please see the Netbackup storage unit types here :

However using a MSDP pool do provide more logical capacity than physical space, depending on how much repeated data (unique data ) being written to the MSDP pool
