Strange issue!!! Daily backup of Default application Backup running with Monthly schedule on Netbackup 7.6.0.1

Hi All,

I have recently upgraded from netbackup 7.1.0.4 to 7.6.0.1 on Windows Master server. Today, I copied one Oracle Backup Monthly policy to make Daily Oracle policy with Daily schedule.

Strange issue is that when daily backup started the daily application backups running with Monthly Schedule and taking monthly SLP.

Is it a bug or some issue with 7.6.0.1 because I never face this issue on previous version.

I have attached the screen shot for more details.

Please help me to fix this issue.

Regards--Sam

Actually not that strange... This has been an issue for as long as I've known NBU.

You need to specify the policy name in the script to ensure correct policy/schedule pair is used.

Does the New Policy still run the same batchfile or template on the client that the other one did?

What is likely happening is that the client's batch file is set to run a backup for the other policy.

you need to defind the schedule name in the Rman script to use the Daily scheule..

seems like its been using the script of Monthly one or Copied it from there and did not updated with schedule name.

Agree with Marianne.

While talking database backup and SLP - be aware of the following tech note
