Have you tested basic hostname lookup at OS level?

Can you ping this client hostname from Master and/or media server?

Add /etc/hosts entries on master/media server.

Once OS-level hostname is resolved, clear NBU host cache on master/media server:
bpclntcmd -clear_host_cache

check connectivity before trying another restore:

Create bpcd log folder on client, then run this command on master and/or media server:

bptestbpcd -client <client-name> -verbose -debug

This is shown to prevent a flodding of messages - e.g. when a restore of 100.000 files fail at file 1.

Do you have a separate media server?

Have you checked connectivity from media server as well?

One more thing - how was destination client specified?
Did you type in the name?
Any possibility that typo error was made?

Dear Marianne,

ping is possible on both master and clent.

Entry of clent ip and hostname is already on etc/hosts

Please find logs after debug:

yes i do have another media server.

The other one is used for fibre transport.

I created a dummy policy and added the client on that. It is automatically listed under client.

I have checked the hostname, it is right.
