Synthetic backups and OpenVMS images

Is it possible to perform synthetic backups with standard backup policies, backing up OpenVMS systems ?

The backup selection for these policies contains multiple lines likes these.

Yes - Page 19 in the Symantec NetBackup User's Guide for OpenVMS

Take a look at page 23 regarding the use of ignore.

Page 19 states using a "Frequency" schedule type in the schedule.

Do I have to use "Frequency" or can I use "Calendar" ?

Calendar sould be fine. Just remember to have 4 incrementals before starting a synthetic full.

This is not mentioned in the OpenVMS guide, but mentioned in the Netbackup Admin guide.
