Did you mean:

Tape Running icon, even when empty and works fine ok.

Hi,

I'm currently facing some strange behavior on my Netbackup Env.

On the 7.5.0.6 Master Server (Windows 2008R2 Physical Machine), there is permanently a Tape Running icon on one of my tape drives.

But this same tape drive is empty.

While in use, all tape drives works ok, including this tape drive.

Only this same tape drive shows Tape Running icon, even when empty.

Any help will be appreciated.

Whatever the server is that you ran vmoprcmd on, restart the NBU services (technically just need to do media manager) but might just be easier to stop/ start NBU That is what the RESTART means that you see in th eoutput - ltid needs restarting. Hopefully then, all should work. Martin

Yes.. agreed with Martin.

tape drives are in  RESTART state.

you need to restart the litd or mostlikely Netbackup servies. to get this cleared..

even after the tape Drives are in  RESTART state you need to power cycle the tape Drive.

tape drives are in  RESTART state.

You can try to restart netbackup service or reconfigure netbackup tape devices.
