There are no media server with credentials to the storage server

Hi Guys,

we need help from someone who has experience with Netbackup 7.6.0.4 and HP StoreOnce 6500 OST/Catalyst :

- We have operational Master server (NBMS) and one Media server (NBMS1) for the moment with intention to expand it later on.

- From NBMS console we created  2 storage servers: one for NBMS (HP StoreOnce 6500) and one for NBMS1 (VSA). I assume that whatever we create under NBMS shall appear in NBMS1 console (storage server, disk pool, etc..)..right?

-We created SLP to do Backup at NBMS1 level (VSA)  then to Duplicate it to storage server HP StoreOnce 6500. Backup works well, however Duplication fails  (error message in Activity Monitor- "no storage units available for use (213)")

-When I want to add an aditional disk pool at storage server HP StoreOnce 6500 for Duplication job there is following message - "There are no  media server credentials to the selected storage server. Netbackup must have at least one media server with configured credentials in order to access the storage server and discover its disk volumes. Please exit the wizard and configure credentials for all media servers you intent to have send backups to the storage server."

Questions:

1.How to do  add media server credentials and to change it or delete ?

2. And then how to correctly configure SLP with HP StoreOnce? Where is the

Many thanks

So you have 2 storage servers created..... these 2 storage servers needs to have the credentials configured with both master and media servers NBMS and NBMS1

you can add the credentials from the GUI console

Netbackup GUI--> Devices--> Credetials--> Storage servers

Double click on stroage server, you will see the list of Media/master servers avaliable , select them to add the Credentails.

you need to install the OST plug-in if they are any..

also do the same for other Storage server..

you can also do this from command like from each server with tpconfig

After you done with step 1 as said by Ram above, you have to create two different storage unit and then one storage unit can be used for backup and other for duplication while configuring SLP.

you can refer below link for configuring SLP.

Thanks Ram Nagalla and Ishant,

With refernece to your firrst reply it worked well  .

About the SLP policy I will the TN you attacched because in our case I have selected only one file in size of 13 MB but when the Backup an Duplication completes it copied 114 MB of data. Is there any thing to do with

Increment/Cumulative Backup policy or some is wrong with SLP

Thanks

Are you able to attach a text file with a grab of the activity monitor job text for both the backup job, and the duplication job?  This may have some clues as to what hapenned.
