Throw old backupid(s) at an SLP

Hi, 7.6.0.3 on HP-UX

Does anybody know if its possible to throw old backupids at an SLP.

Have lots of tape consolidations to do and doing it manually, ensuring I end up with the correct number of images before expiring the original is somewhat tiresome !

Letting the SLP handle them would be much easier.

Many thanks - Darren

No once you have done a backup outside of an SLP it cannot be added to SLP control

SLP duplication only works if entire process is managed by SLP - storage unit in policy was selected as SLP to perform backup and duplication. You could possibly script the manual duplications or create a file containing image-ids to be duplicated and specify this file with bpduplicate -bidfile .....

Hi Marianne,

It is scripted but if there are any fails, or we have to break off in the middle of the process for any reason, it becomes a bit trickier to restart with a new Bidfile. Then we have to ensure we only expire the ones which have completed duplication etc etc.

Would be nice to throw them at an SLP and let NBU do the spadework :)

Thanks anyway - Darren
