Dear All,

I have Netbackup 6.0 With MP4 (as backup server) on windows 2003 server and file server (windows 2003) as Netbackup client and both the servers are with two NIC's. (Public & Backup)

public network: 192.168.1.0

Backup network: 10.0.0.0

I want that my backup should take place by backup lan (i.e 10.0.0.0) to reduce network load.

can any one tell me how can i do this in windows environment.?

i know that there is an option in "Host Properties --> Universal Settings--->use specified network interface". But i dont know how it works and how to configure it

Thnaks & Regards,

Another easy way of accomplishing this is to use host files.  On the backup server you would add an entry in the host file with the client server name and the IP for the backup LAN.  The client server needs an entry for the backup server and IP in it's local host file as well.
