NBU Version:- 7.6.0.1
Its a Single Master and Media Server
OS: Solaris
Currently we have attached a DAS box directly to our media server of 45 TB and its configured as multiple basic disk storage units for backup
Now we are planning to go with deduplication disk (either MSDP or Puredisk)
1. Want to know any possiable way to convert the existing backups from basic disk to deduplication disk (MSDP or PureDisk)
2. Its is possiable to add more disk space we already added 45 TB so that we can create seperate MSDP untill the basic disk backup retentions are complete.

.... 45 TB ... configured as multiple basic disk storage units
BasicDisk cannot be converted to MSDP.
Do you have tape where disk backups can be duplicated to and then expired?
If not, you will have to provision a separate, single LUN for MSDP pool.
If the ' multiple basic disk storage units ' are made up of multiple luns and mount points, then it cannot be used for MSDP.
MSDP needs a single LUN.
PLEASE go through all of the requirements in NetBackup Deduplication Guide before configuring anything.
Planning is key to successful config.
