http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=HOWTO70979#v48473196

NBU Master Server : Windows 2008 R2 / NBU 7.0.1

SYMCquiesce is mentioned for the first time in the NBU 7.1 manual for VMware.

The assumption is therefore that it did not exist in NBU 7.0. Also no mention of this utility in NBU 7.0 manual for VMware.

If you click on "Show all" under Products on HOWTO70979, it shows NBU 7.5.

You will have to upgrade...

See this TN: http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO70979

Copy the SYMCquiesce ISO image into the virtual machine's ESX datastore.

On the installed NetBackup packages for Windows (master server and client), the ISO image is located in the following folder:

\NetBackup\bin\goodies\vmware-quiesce

(more in the TN)

Please tell us more how incremental backups didn't work. Failed with error? Could not select incrementals at VM recovery? How did you configured you policy and what happened? To share policy config, post output of "bppllist policy_name -L" command.

SYMCquiesce installation is not a requirement to have incremental backup working.

As Yasuhisa said, more info ar needed.

Did you check the Support for NetBackup 7.x in virtual environments ?

Hope this helps.

Hello Rohit,

mind that file level restore feature for linux started from NB 7.1, with several restrictions. Your master and media/backup host are still in 7.0.1.

- File level recovery for linux started for nbu 7.1, you may check here:

NetBackup 7.1 Release Announcement, related links

- in 7.x restriction, check here (updated):

Support for NetBackup 7.x in virtual environments

you may check also supported file systems

Hope this helps
