Hello,

please go to master server host properties --> media and check if

Enable unrestricted media sharing for all media servers is selected or not.if it is selected , uncheck the box and try again.

It isn't a problem. nbdecommission just noticed that the media server is a part of the group UNRESTRICTED_SHARING_GROUP which means that you've enabled  "unrestricted media sharing". Plase, note that you might face with the problem https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.000100482

I check in the master properties and the enabled  "unrestricted media sharing" is uncheck

and when run the command for delete the media server gave me the following error

N:\Veritas>nbemmcmd -deletehost -machinename ssjsed3000 -machinetype media

NBEMMCMD, Version: 7.6.0.2

The function returned the following failure status:

generic EMM SQL error (193)

Command did not complete successfully.

Wait..... we seem to be missing a couple of steps...

On Friday, you were running this command:
nbdecommission -list_ref -oldserver
(Without actually decommissioning the server?)

On Monday, you did this:
nbemmcmd -deletehost ....

What steps did you perform inbetween these commands to ensure all other references to this media server have been removed?

Also review nbemm, bpdbm and admin logs to see more details of the problem..Gather nbsu from media server as well

Is there other steps to remove the reference of the Media Server?

I think that the nbdecommission -list_ref -oldserver is for that

please correct if i wrong

thanks

"-list_ref" means 'list references'.

So, that is all that this command does. It lists all the places where the media server is referenced
It does not remove anything or actually decommissions the media server.

Decommissioning a media server is covered in this series of HOWTO docs:

About decommissioning a media server http://www.veritas.com/docs/000112445
