Hi All,

We need urgent solution. We are unable to configure the drives on any media servers. Every time its giving SSO license not installed error.

But we have all the license up to date on all server. Recently we have did some activities in our environment.

1) we have removed l180 library and added new IBm library.

2) now we have total 26 drives in our environment.

3) our SSO license count is 34.

4) after removing the L180 , we unable to configure the drives on any SAN and LAN media servers.

5) we have total 3 libraries , SL500 and 2 IBM TS3500 libraries and if we tried to configure the drives only SL500 getting configured and remaining drives showing no SSO license Installed error.

Environment Details :=

Master : solaris 10 with netbackup 7.5.0.4

LAN media server : 7.1( also robotic arm host)

SAN media Servers :7.5.0.4

Kindly help as our production is down and tech supprot not providing the correct solution or work around.

Thanks,

Sagar

Theres a lot going on here...

Did you fully unconfigure the L180 and all its drives?

Are the new drives / devices visible and work on the servers you expect them to at the OS? Ie if you put a tape in a drive, does mt -f /dev/xxx/xxxcbn status show exactly one drive loaded, across all drives/servers?

If not then you need to look at your zoning where applicable.

You need to ensure that Library Based Tape Drive and SSO license are added to ALL media servers in your environment (including SAN media servers) in addition to Enterprise Server or Enterprise Client license.

Best to re-check active license keys on all media servers and SAN media servers.

Also a good idea to upgrade robot control host to 7.5.0.4 and ensure that updated 7.5 license keys have been added.

Licensed features will be reported to master server in 'nbemmcmd -listhosts -verbose' output.
The number in MachineFlags in above output has the following meaning:

1 = SSO
2 = NDMP
4 = Remote Client
7 = All

Hi Marriane ,

We are upgrading the same . But  I have one question , we are able to see the drive in robtest command and in tpautoconf -report_disc the drives are showing new devices. Is there place to check logs or file

we are able to see the drive in robtest command and in tpautoconf -report_disc the drives are showing new devices.

robtest shows what the robot itself sees.

The device config wizard combines robot device info with OS device info.

You will need to check 'scan' output on each of the media servers to ensure OS on all media servers are seeing the devices correctly.

You REALLY need to upgrade NBU on the robot control host.....

Have you verified nbemmcmd license info as per my previous post?
