Hi
Greetings for the day.
We are using Redhat Linux 5.5 on Dell Server , Netbackup 7.0 was installed before on the server. Due to some issues in operating system, we had to format the root/ partition and reinstall complete OS again.
While trying to re install Netbackup 7.0, we are getting a error message
Installing PBX..
Error: Could not locate the build_version file for: VRTSpbx. Exiting as installation is bad
Installing PBX was unsuccessful.
Aborting.
I have gone through the post https://vox.veritas.com/t5/NetBackup/ERROR-Could-not-locate-the-build-version-file-for-VRTSpbx/td-p/...
wherein a recommendation was made to use 'installp -u VRTSpbx'. on AIX machine.
Request you all to let us if any such command is available for Redhat.
Regards
Girish

Hi
OS issue... Check permissions in /var/tmp.
Ownership should be root and permissions should be 1755 at least.
It worked.

You should really schedule NBU upgrade as a matter of urgency... NBU 7.0 is more than 6 years old.
All versions of NBU 7.x up to 7.6.x will reach EOSL in less than 6 months...
See https://sort.veritas.com/eosl/show_matrix

And RedHat 5.5 support ends in seven months.
