Hi,

I try to do an restore but it fails becouse of an Frozen tape which is Allocated for use!

If i try to unfreeze this media it comes up with the message that the media is allocated for use.

I've canselled the restore try and retry to unfreeze this media with same issue.

This error occurred after we had an issue with our Library.

The library is again up and running after we rebooted them.

Any Ideas!?

Grts,

nbrbutil -dump

(or, at a push, maybe even vmoprcmd)?

***EDIT***

Seemed to have got a solution there so'd better do some work to justify it!

If NB believes that the media is still in use (maybe as a consequence of your earlier library issues) then it could be that the "allocation" for that media may need releasing.

Similar issue covered in this previous post: https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/not-able-expiresuspend-media & the linked URL's covering releasing allocations.
