Can you share all the steps that you have performed?
Have you tested all comms between master and media server?
Can you config a BasicDisk STU on this media server as a test?
Have you added all required license keys on the media server?
Does /dd/dedup exist as local mountpoint (not NFS) on the media server?
Is /dd or /dd/dedup a dedicated volume on the media server?

Hello
Try and perform the configuration via CLI
If that works go back and add the diskpool from the GUI. If not, it would give a more comprehensible error from CLI.

Confirm that OS firewalls are stopped and disabled on master and media server.
Test port connectivity using bptestbpcd. Create bpcd log folder on the media server, then run this command on the master:
bptestbpcd -client <linux-hostname> -debug -verbose
Check output of command and bpcd log.
Curious to know which license you have added - Capacity license or host-based?
If host based - have you added Data Optimisation Option license in addition to Enterprise Server license?
Run these commands on the master and show us the output:
nbemmcmd -listhosts -verbose
nbemmcmd -getemmserver
About the test DSU - have you tried to run a small test backup to it?
The dedupe volume needs to be a dedicated 'virtual' volume.
The OS on the media server needs to see and use it as a local LVM volume.
What does 'df -h' show on the media server?
PS:
Have you verified all requirements in NetBackup Deduplication Guide ?

If you had multiple try configuring a MSDP pool - you may need to reset to "factory defaults" before re-trying.
Windows: <install_path>\Veritas\pdde\PDDE_deleteConfig.bat
