Hello,

After an upgrage from netbackup 7.5.0.5 to 7.6.0.1, I get this error (Unable to connect to the EMM server error(77)) when i launch the console.

And, when i launch the following command : bpup -v -f  I get this message "Start up of one or more services failed".

Can I install the Master and the Media server in the same physical server ?

Thank's in advance for your help.

Yes, the NBU master server binaries include media server binaries as well.

Please stop all services again (bpdown -f -v), then use Services to stop and restart Symantec Private Branch Exchange.

Start NBU again using 'bpup -f -v' again and show us the output.

Run 'bpps' and copy & paste output here.

Check EMM log directly after above commands and post output:

vxlogview -o 111 -t 00:10:00

(last command will show logs for last 10 minutes)

I have this same issue.

Is there a known solution now?

Hello,

You could ping the NBDB to verify that it is working:
nbdb_ping (bin)

Besides, it costs you check the notes of the EMM, with the command:
nbemmcmd -getemmserver (admincmd).

The server.log under NetBackupDB might have an indication what the problem is

The standard questions: Have you checked: 1) What has changed. 2) The manual 3) If there are any tech notes or VOX posts regarding the issue
