Unable to inventory tape in second magazine

Mat7532
Level 2

Hello,

I have a scalar i40 with 2 magazine of 20 tapes and 25 licences to use it.

In netbackup (7.7.2) when I do an inventory on the robot I have only 20 tapes.

I do inventory with "update volume configuration" and "empty media access port prior update" options without success

I executed robtest command and I have same result only one magazine seen.

Why I can't see the second magazine in netbackup and use my 25 licences ?

Thanks

The problem is with the robot config.

Number of Drives : 2
Number of Slots : 20
Number of Media Access Ports: 20

The slots in the 2nd magazine are all configured as Media Access Ports.
You need to look at the hardware config.

Please login to i40 web console and then check what are the number of slots licensed.

Login to i40 => Reports => System Information => Library Partitions

Also, under Reports => Slots you will find the details about your licensed slots, drives, i/o, cleaning slots. Please verify this and if it does not matches your expected # of slots you may have to contact quantum support to fix it.

Please show us output of 'scan -changer'

This will show us how the slots are configured on the robot:

Number of Drives :
Number of Slots  :
Number of Media Access Ports:

It seems that slots in the one magazine may be all configured as Media Access Ports.
NBU can only add what the robot communicates from its config.

Here is the result of "scan -changer"
