Unable to uninstall NBU 7.5 Client

Hi

 

I am unable to uninstall NBU client 7.5 from a windows server 2008 machine. I am not getting any error messages while unistalling.

The uninstaller just pops up and then goes out. I had 7.5.0.6 patch installed as well. So first I uninstalled the patch sucessfully and then while trying to uninstall 7.5 it is not going. Any help will be appreciated.

Lots in there but sounds a little like an msi error

Have you rebooted following the patch uninstall?

That may be worth a try and then try the uninstall again after the reboot

Even though UAC is disabled it is also worth running the control panel as administrator too

Check if anti virus or endpoint protection is blocking the installation.

@ Nicolai :I have cheked and  SEP is not blocking the installtion

@Mark_Solutions : I haven't reeboted the server and I am not able to do that since this is hosting a critical production application. I tried running control panel as admin, but that also didn't helped.

Is there anything in the application or system event logs to indicate an issue?

Perhaps try re-starting or even re-registering the Windows Installer Service

I have asked the server team to reboot the server. Will wait till we get a reply from them

If reboot does not resolve the issue you can also try the manual steps to uninstall netbackup. The steps are mentioned in the following technote. http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH87262

The issue has been resolved by performing a reboot of the server.
