Hi All,

We have a NBU master server running on a Windows 20008 x64 machine with NBU 7.5.0.6

We have couple of unknown jobs in activity monitor that are not getting purged, can anybody provide me an EEB or a link that addresses this issue.

Many Thanks

This is a tech note relating to it http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH210574

Note that 7.5.0.7 is out today which also fixes it (and lots of other things) : http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH209024

Usually if you cycle your services they go to a status of 50 and then you can cancel of delete them

Hope this helps

Depending on various things, the above TN/ etrack may not fix the issue.

There have been multiple cases with very similar symptoms that required a new EEB - 3308782

Another thing to bear in mind is that if someone re-started the services or rebooted the Master Server the same thing can happen as these jobs get orphaned off - and then just need to be killed off to get rid of them

Hi mph999,

Can you kindly provide me a link where I can download the EEB 3308782

Thanks

You can't download it, you would need to raise a case to obtain it I'm afraid.

But again, all the fixes in THAT EEB are in 7.5.0.7.  See page 71:

FYI - In 7.5 changes were made to bpjobd that now allow bpjobd -r to work while te process is running.

So - bpjobd -r <jobid>

bpjobid -r jobid, jobid, jobid    (comma separated list)

or     bpjobd -r jobid-jobid  (range of jobids)

Will work to remove the bogus jobs from the activity monitor.

Note this is a work around - you really, really, really should apply 7.5.0.7 as everyone else was saying..
