Hi,
Customer has NBU client ver 7.1 installed on HPUX server. It is being backed up by a 7.1 master server. They have a requirement wherein they need to move the HPUX server backup to another existing NBU environment which is ver 7.6. They are planning to upgrade the HPUX server.
If we upgrade the NBU client software, do we just run the installer? Will the NBU installer recognize that it will be an upgrade?
Many thanks!

Just deinstall the 7.1 software and reinstall 7.6 - no point in "upgrading over the top" as we don't keep anything of worth in a clients NetBackup install.

I would upgrade to 7.6 tis HPUX only after few weeks - in case something had to be restored from old NBU 7.1 domain to that client! Once you will upgrade to 7.6 you will lost possibility of restoring data from NBU 7.1 domain.
After a few weeks the chance of restoring from this 7.1 domain are relatively small....
