Hi all,
Currently, our organization uses NetBackup 6.5.5, now we want to upgrade to 7.6, but we don't have maintenance contract. The license for NetBackup 6.5 were purchased 5 years ago. So I want to know what do we need to perform the upgrade, do we have to buy new license ?

Product License does not expire.
Maintenance expires and needs to be renewed every year.
Maintenance is what gives you access to Symantec Support and upgrades to new versions.
So, the options in Adonis' post are your only choices.
If I can rephrase, option 1 is 'Renew your maintenance'.
Best to contact your local reseller to discuss your options.

You can upgrade your licenses on your Customer Portal once you have maintenance contracts.

Hi C.Bap,
You have two options:
In renewing your licenses, you have to pay for a reinstatement fee equal to 25% lapsed support fee.Lapsed support will be calculated from the date of expiration of your support subsription upto to effective date of reinstatement (which is about 5 years of calculated period).

Actually the IT guy before me didn't buy Maintenance License, so it not expired. Does it mean I have to buy new license ?
