Upgrade Netbackup client major release in Redhat SRT

We have a Redhat SRT with the Netbackup client version 7.6.0.4 in it. I am trying to update the Netbackup client to version 7.7.1.

When going through the prompts in "bmrsrtadm" and selecting "Install Symantec NetBackup Maintenance Pack" it is expecting CLT files not an install script and it fails. Output is below.

Must I recreate the entire SRT if I want to update the Netbackup client by a major release?

# ls -l /mnt/7.7.1/NetBackup_7.7.1_CLIENTS_Linux/

You would need to make a 7.7.1 SRT for which ever OS. The OS + the Client Installation is the base of the SRT. Any other software or maintenance packs get added to that.

Hi,

7.7.1 is not a maintenance pack, its a full installation. So I think you'll need to redo the SRT, or update the client installation, not add a MP.

I thought as much... any idea how to "update the client installation"? I can't seem to find the option in bmrsrtadm.
