Hi,
I am currently running NBU 6.5.5 on RHEL 5.6 and am looking to move to NBU7.1 can this be done in one upgrade or do I have to go from 6.5.5 to 7.0 then to 7.1 ?
Any advice would be welcomed.

From the 7.1 Installation Guide:
Direct upgrades to NetBackup 7.1
You can upgrade directly to NetBackup 7.1 from any 6.x
versions or 7.0 versions.
Obviously check the guides and release notes for all pre-requisites etc.

Also note the following section:
Note: If you currently use NetBackup 6.x and plan to upgrade to version 7.1, be
aware that NetBackup version 7.0 contained many changes and enhancements.
Before you upgrade from any 6.x version to 7.1, refer to the NetBackup Release
Notes for 7.1 for complete details. You can also refer to the following topic for a
summary of changes in NetBackup 7.0: See “About changes in NetBackup 7.0”
on page 13.

Wait....
1st you need to check compatibility matrix carefully for 7.1
however 7.1.0.2 is the latest version

Don't forget only 64-bit *nix is supported from 7.x
See:

One of the reasons we went from HP-UX to RHEL was due to the pulled support for Itanium at HP-UX11-31, we are running 64bit RHEL 5.6 so are covered for the upgrade, Ran SORT and everything looks Ok from this end thanks for the heads up though.
