Upgrade netbackup 6.0MP7 to 7

I have been tasked with updating our server from 6.0MP7 to 7 in order to enable encrypted backups and MS SQL backups.

Is there any information available to me regaurding steps that need to be taken?  I am currently running RHEL4 and NetBackup 6.0MP7.  I want to upgrade the OS to RHEL5 and netbackup to 7.

Thanks in advance.

There is quite a lot of information on the Upgrade Portal - please take time and read each point plus each link carefully.

Because you mentioned LINUX, this point stands out for me:

6.  With NetBackup 7.X, all Unix/Linux 32-bit support has been discontinued. To upgrade these systems to NetBackup 7.X, you must first migrate your current NetBackup  6.x catalog and
database to a 64-bit system with a supported platform. 32-bit Media servers that runs NetBackup 6.x are compatible with 64-bit Master servers that run NetBackup 7.X.
Please refer to:
"Using catalog backup and recovery to transfer NetBackup catalogs between UNIX or Linux master servers as part of a hardware refresh"

A couple of good places to start:
