Upgrading Windows 8.1.2 to 9.1.0.1

I have upgraded our Primary server from 3.1.2 to 4.1.0.1 which was an appliance.  I had to upgrade to 4.1 first then apply the 4.1 MR3 patch.  Is this similar on a Windows server or can I go directly from 8.1.2 to 9.1.0.1, or do i need to upgrade to 9.1 first?

And also is there a upgrade analyzer for Windows systems or is that just an appliance thing?

Thanks

On Windows/Linux server the 9.1.0.1 installation is a full install. So, no need to go two steps. However, you may need to install EEBs that were released for 9.1.0.1 after it became GA. You prepare your upgrade on the Windows/Linux server using the checklist.

But why not go straight to the 10.0.0.1 or a 10.1 version?

Thanks for the help!
