You should be  O.K, when brtool say "Backup completed Successfully". Can you run a bpimagelist or backup report  for the backup job to confirm is there ?. Normal brtool run a bplist command for each file contained in the backup image. If just one archive file fail you will at least get a "with warning" message from brbackup.

I think the script Netbackup run when starting brbackup, exit with a non zero status code  - causing Netbackup to believe the backup failed (classic status code 6 ting). Try to start the script by hand and look for any failure messages. If you are not familiar with AIX ask you're local UNIX adm for help.

Comment to the backint log:   Netbackup uses positive failures a lot - Testing for something that are expected to fail if everything is fine.   The "File names did not match" message is by the way also a debug message (field 3):

Severity:

<1> = Unknown
<2> = Debug
<4> = Info
<8> = Warning
<16> = Error
<32> = Critical

I view my script and tracking to this step:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
if [ $RETURN_STATUS -eq 0 ]
then

 timeStamp=`date '+%m%d%y%H%M%S'` ;
 br_out_file="/tmp/brarchive_out.${timeStamp}" ;
 CMD_LINE="$SAP_ENV brarchive -u / -p /oracle/DEV/102_64/dbs/initDEVarch.sap -save_delete -d util_file -r /oracle/DEV/102_64/dbs/initDEVarch.utl -k no -l E > $br_out_file"

 echo "Execute $CMD_LINE"
 su - devadm -c "$CMD_LINE"

 RETURN_STATUS=$?

        if [ $RETURN_STATUS = 1 ]; then
                su - devadm -c "grep 'BR0*13W' $br_out_file > /dev/null"
                if [ $? = 0 ]; then
                        RETURN_STATUS=0
                fi
        fi
 su - devadm -c "cat $br_out_file;rm $br_out_file"
fi
exit $RETURN_STATUS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

after this line:

echo "Execute $CMD_LINE"
su - devadm -c "$CMD_LINE"

I got RETURN_STATUS not equal 0

Why not?

I have copy this code:

brarchive -u / -p /oracle/DEV/102_64/dbs/initDEVarch.sap -save_delete -d util_file -r /oracle/DEV/102_64/dbs/initDEVarch.utl -k no -l E

and run on SAP server, it's OK.

and finally I restore everything ok.

Please help me.

Format the $CMD_LINE and executete as root the su - devadm -c "$CMD_LINE" command (you know what to look for).

I am not sure you can get the return status with "RETURN_STATUS=$?" because the command is executed in a new shell. The return value may be somthing else that return >0
