Hello,

Environment:

NBU:

MASTERSEVER NBU 7.5.0.3

MEDIASERVER NBU 7.5.0.5

VSphere 5

Description:

I have a Windows VM with 4 disks. I made a backup of the system disk only, no disk dynamics and no partition gpt.

Not excluding the volume of data disks, which can be?

The VMWare policy settings are:

VMWare backup host: Backup Media Server

Primary VM identifier: VM display name

Orphaned snapshot handling: Remove NBU

All Optimizations are checked

All transport modes are checked

Advanced Options:

Virtual machine quiesce: Enabled

Virtual disk selection: Exclude data disks

Ignore diskless VMs: Disabled

Post vCenter events: All Events

See similar discussion and solution. And guidance for using that option,

About the Exclude disk options for Virtual disk selection

Make sure your C:\ and N:\ are not sharing the same VMDK.

Create a separate VMDK for each drive letter. Best practice.

From your logs it looks like they both have the same volume UID.

Also,

Virtual disk selection options: examples to avoid

It recommends to perform a Full Backup first then choose to set the exclude disk options.

You should back up the entire virtual machine (Include all disks) before using Virtual disk selection to exclude a disk from future backups.
