VM Instant Recovery from "Diff" snapshot image

We are running nbrestorevm to create a new VM from the latest snapshot image of another VM.

However, it seems that NetBackup selects to restore not from the latest available image, but from the latest image with Full schedule. Any subsequent incremental backups (with Diff schedule) seem to be ignored.

Any thoughts / ideas how to use the latest image even if it's incremental?

Supports the following policy schedule types: Full backups, and incremental backups that include the Use Accelerator option with a disk-based storage unit. Incrementals without the Use Accelerator policy option are not supported.

That's the only caveat that I can find that could be a factor .....

A workaround could be to restore the VM from the full backup and then restore the incremental backups into the new VM to get up to the latest backup point.
