VM Job fails with ec 200

Hello All,

I have created a new VM policy to backup one of the VM's.Backups starts as per its schedule but fails with error code 200 within 30 seconds.

Here is the detailed status:

scheduler found no backups due to run(200)

 

Need to know what is wrong with the setup.Also when i run Test Query in the VM policy(Included =0,Excluded=302,Failed=0).

Hello 

Its all about query configuration. How you build the query. 

The query vary depending on customer requirement. Check with VM admin about the same.

Refer admin guide and from page 95: :)

Hello,

Are you using SAN transport mode? Please check the zoining of backup host and LUN mapped correctly.

You can use NBD transport mode to test the backup to confirm the issue.

Hello,

As per your query there is no machine is qualified for backup. All machine excluded in query and because of that backup is exit with status 200.
Recommend to check the query and if query is correct then wait for machine to match the query and get include in client list during backup.

I have checked the VMquery and it includes no machine,i have copied policy for this particular client from the policy for which backups are already running.All information including vcenter,cluster & display name has been entered correctly and still backup fails with ec 200.

I am unable to find out the difference in this policy and others for which backups are working

 

 

 

Sheikab, can you post the VM query from the original policy that works and the copied policy that doesn't work?

i am able to see same results on both policies now.i dont know if some change is made but now backups are failing with ec 6.Please find error messages.

backups are starting now but not compelting successfully.

In Transport modes initially “hotadd” was selected so we deselected it and selected “san”.Now backup is working fine.

 

I believe it was the transport issue because of which backup failed with ec 6.
