VMware Credentials in NBU 6.5.4

Hi,

We are currently trying to validate the VMware Virtual Centre on NBU 6.5.4 but each time we get an error "VMware credential validation failed (MM Status 135)" we have used an account that is a VM adminsitartor account and has full access to the VCB and the VC, we can see the master server from both the VCB and VC both forward and reverse and also from the master to the VC and VCB so it is not a DNS issue (normaly have this trouble)

Our set up is:

NBU Master Server 6.5.4 - HP-UX 11.31

VCB - Windows 2003, VCB 1.5.0805, NBU Media Server 6.5.4

VC -  (Virtual) Windows 2008R2, VCenter 4.0.0 Build 162856

We have tried several different accounts from AD to local machine accounts on the VCB

The vcbvmname -h<vc> -u<username> -p<password> -s Any command workes from the VCB CLI with out any problems using the same username and password as we are trying in the Credentials tab.

We are now stuck as to what could be stopping the connection from NBU to the VC / VCB, I have followed the technotes and user guides from Netbackup and VMware but to no avail, any assistance would be appreciated as our Wintel guys are looking to stop using Veeam as a backup option.

Update:

Found the problem with the credentials failing, we had recently moved the VM environment from one Master Server to another as we had upgraded to NBU 6.5.4 and whilst the new Master was in the VCB list it was not set as the default, chnaged this so the new master was the default and it all works now.

Cheers rrosario but I have been through that document with a fine tooth comb and cannot get the credentials to authenticate, this is the initial point of setting up the VMware and we can't get past this bit, the proxy is set up in Netbackup on the master and is also a media server which can be seen from NBU GUI without any issues, it is the connection of the credentials to the VCB / VC via netbackup that is tripping us up.
