VMware backup failed with error 4207

Hello Team,

 

Backup of some vmware clients is getting failed with error 4207.

Please have a look at this post:

snapshot error encountered (156) 

You will understand that only giving Job Details without any other info does not help...

Hello Marianne,

 

Master server is Linux------ 7.6.1.2

 Backup Host -7.6.1.2

OS--Windows 2008 and we are using backup host also as media server.

 

I am attaching bpfis logs from backup host , please have a look into this.

Before we look at logs - please provide additional info:

Which OS and filesystem type(s) on the failing VMs?

Can you take a snapshot of the failing VMs from VMware?

Is vmtools installed?

Any RDM disks?

Have you worked through the list of possible reasons listed here? http://www.veritas.com/docs/000068085 

PS:

Please copy logs to .txt files rather than Word docs. It is not always possible to download Office docs.

Hello Marianne,

 

All the vmware servers are Windows.VMware tools are installed on server and are up to date. We don't take backups of RDM disks.

I had more questions in my previous post and there are more possible reasons for status 156 in the TN.

Please go through everything before we try to troubleshoot from NBU point of view?

Yes Marianne we can take snapshot from vcenter. I will confirm filesystem from OS team and let you know.
