Hello.
I have got question regarding VMware virtual machine backup via VMware policy type.
We have dedicated backup NIC on ESX and central Netbackup server (Master, media, VMware proxy host server in one machine) - picture attached
Connection to the ESX (and particular VM) is provided by vCenter credentials in Netbackup, the vCemter has got only production NIC (=no backup NIC).
If we want to backup a VM vCenter returns production ESX IP address where the Vm is hosted.
How to configure the backup environment the backup of VM from the ESX to use the backup NIC instead of production NIC?
Thanks for your help.
Parameters:
NBU 7.5.0.4
transport type - nbd
ESX - ESXi 5.1

Write hosts file on VMware Backup Host so that hostname of ESXs are resolved to its backup segment IP address. When VMware Backup Host(say proxy) need to talk with ESXs(e.g. NBD), vCenter provides ESXs' hostname to the proxy, and the proxy identify the target by resolving this hostname. If you want backup traffic to ho through backup network, it must be resolved to backup segment IP.

Thanks Yasuhisa.
It is solution but it sounds rather as a workaround. Does anybody have any other idea?

I tested the VMware backup over backup LAN, it works according to Yasuhisa idea (host file change).
But restore of this backup uses production LAN. It looks like NBU Master gets IP address of the ESX from vCenter server and no name resolution is performed on the NBU server.
Any idea?
Thanks

Sorry to be late.
Please check if these ESX hosts have been registerd by IP address. If you see in vCenter these ESXs by IP address, vCenter may provide IP address directly to VMware Backup Host.
Or, for workaround, add ESXs as "VMware Restore ESX server" on [Media and Device Management]-[Credentials]-[Vitrual Machine Servers], and select destination ESX directly at restore.
