Dear Experts
In 7.5.0.7 Netbackup environment ( we have 3 different environment of Netbackup), most of the backups are failing with error 156

Create the bpfis log on the backup host. If that does not give any clues you can enable vxms logging.

It can happen if the the netbackup online_util directory is not excluded from the anti virus scan, at least on windows
Also have had to clean out the online_util sub directories by hand after problems with the snapshots
What happens i f you try to create a snapshot with queisce file system from vsphere on the failing VMs ?
Is there any events in the vsphere and system logs on the VMs ?

That is usually the backup / media server.
