VMware policy - How can I use multiple data streams per backup job?

Hi,

we have to backup a VM which is around 7 TB big and we are doing the backup via SAN directly to tape. We are using a VMware policy without intelligent policy.

Is there an option to use multiple data streams / tape drives for one backup job?

Thanks,

Felix

I have two 21TB VMs with sybase IQ in them.

My knowledge is that there is no option to use multistreaming with VM backups. These VMs have a lot of VMDK files and would be nice if there was an option to back them up in parallel.

Is there no "secret"  command line solution?

It would improve the overall usability in a virtual environment.

Hello,

I dont think so. Maybe there is some limitation also on VMware side currently. I will ask Product Manager if this feature is not on NetBackup roadmap.

Hello,

according to my PM, there are currently no plans for this feature .

Michal

Any plans now in Road map for multi-streaming of a VMDK ?
