VMware vStorage API Best Practices

Howdy All,

WE recently implemented NBU 7 with PDDO to backup VMware vphere using vstorage API. Everything went fine except few VM's backup failed with status code 156.

We had configured the CC jobs in PDDO STU to 5 and as per symantec concurrent jobs should match the max jobs per policy configuration.

Now the question is, what should be the value for the STU concurrent job and policy max job settings to achieve best performance and least failures??

Well got it from Tech Support :)

As per them concurrent job settings on STU and  max job per policy setting should be same....

Otherwise,

For example if you keep 4 concurrent jobs on STU and 6 in max jobs per policy then when backup is started 6 streams will start and 2 of them will fail with 156 because STU will only accept 4 streams at a time...
