Hi.

VMware virtual machine backup fails with status 11.

I have the following log ↓

--------------------------

Critical bpbrm (pid=26523) from client ********: FTL - cleanup() failed, status 11
Error bptm (pid=26540) media manager terminated by parent process
Critical bpbrm (pid=26523) unexpected termination of client ********

--------------------------

I checked this knowledge(https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100013415), but it didn't apply.

Can you think of anything else?

best regards...

Hi,
In genral, error 11 is something went wrong on vm’s OS.
Please run a chkdsk if its windows, otherwise do check message log if its a linux.
For better vision, you need to enable bpbkar and vxms logs on the backup host.

Hey

Please enable vxms logging and try to dig some info from these logs...

use this one to enable logging https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.100022695

Hi.

Thank you for answering

I was able to avoid it by changing the transfer method from "san" to "nbd".

The disk of the client server may be damaged, so I will try chkdsk

Thank you.
