VSS Shadows You Can’t Delete

Hello,

We found that every time a Writer is unstable (System or Exchange) the Shadow copy is not released, and when restarting the service associated with the Writer (Snapshot for System or Store for Exchange) shadow copy is released. It can not be deleted by the command "VSSADMIN DELETE SHADOWS for: ..." because is blocked by the backup

Master Cluster Windows Server 2008 R2 NetBackup 7.7.3

Media Appliance Veritas NetBackup 2.7.3

Client Windows Server 2008 R2 Exchange NetBackup 7.7.3

A reboot has solve the issue for the momment, but how can avoid this issue in the future ?

take a look at the Netbackup bpfis command:

DESCRIPTION

The bpfis command can delete or query (discover) snapshots of a client system (file system or volume).
