In general, you should know: NetBackup architecture, deployment scenarios, commands. Plus, you should have practical knowledge of the product.
You can find answer on Symantec official web-site - pre-assessment. And yes, exam is not the easy one.

Fun stuff. I didn't noticed that the post was 3yrs old :)
Anyway, there a lot of IT Pros who want to pass their first exam and wondering how hard it will be. They not want to find easier way to pass it, but rather to be confident.

I took the 7.0 beta exam ... wasn't too bad.

Partners has own certification - STS. It is simpler to SCS, but still require a lot of effort to achieve.
BTW. I got 2 STS Certs ;)
