Versions of Master/Media Servers

Current Environment:
1 NetBackup 6.5.2 Master/Media Server
Various Windows/Linux/Unix Clients
AIX 4.3.3 servers requiring use of NetBackup v5.1 clients (preventing us from upgrading NetBackup beyond v6.5.2.)
1 QEKM Server
1 PureDisk (PDVA) v6.6 Server
1 Quantum Scalar 500 Library with LTO4 Drives
======================================

Would like to add NetBackup 7 Master Server to environment and maintain compatibility with our older AIX 4.3.3 Clients.

1.  Can we have both NBU6.5.2 Master and NBU7 Master Servers utilizing the same 6.5.2 Media Server?

2.  If we do (1) above and upgrade the Media Server to v7, would we still be able to backup/restore our AIX 4.3.3 Clients?

Thank you

1. A Media server can have one master server only. A master can have many media servers.
2. Backward compatibilty is covered in Release Notes:

Marianne is correct
Master server and media servers should be of the same revision, while clients can be one revision back.
7.0 servers, 6.X clients.
There should only be one master server managing the environment.

I still maintain that one should not dive into a first major release of anything until the first product patch appears- unless you need that shiny new feature yesterday?

Marianne van den Berg answered the question first and directly.  Bill Burditzman's comments are helpful as well.  In essence, because of our AIX 4.3.3 servers, we are locked at Netbackup v6.5.2.  Thanks for your answers!
