Virtual Media Server / Backup Host + Hot Add OST over FC

Hi guys, do you know if OST over FC is supported for virtual Media Server/Backup Host in VMWare?

The only note I found about this is in the NetBackup-7x-in-virtual-environments_Feb_03_2016_update documentation:

Virtual media server
The NetBackup media server is supported within a virtual machine, under the limitations described in the “General guidelines for support.”
The following storage units are supported within a virtual machine:
■ Basic Disk
■ AdvancedDisk
■ Media Manager (tape storage units)
For details on the supported virtualization technologies, see Table 3.
■ Media Server Deduplication Pool (MSDP)
For MSDP requirements, see the NetBackup Deduplication Guide and the following deduplication tech note:

■ PureDisk Deduplication Pool (PDDO) including the NetBackup 5000 SeriesAppliances.

Doesn't seem to be per the information you found.

I agree. You found the answer: "OpenStorage, where the Data Interface is Ethernet." You can therefore conclude that OST over FC is NOT supported in virtual environment.
