Virtual machines backup failing with error code 6.Its been 3 days VM backups for approx 20 machines are getting failed.
What could be reason for this as VM admin confirmed that everything is running Ok from their end.
Only few servers from the same VM policy are failing. Transport medium: 1. nbd 2.hotadd

Cool - we can rule that out.
I found this article that excatly matches what you are seeing

Does it change anything, if set exclusive to nbd ?
Status 23 is a "socket read failed" by the way.

Try removing hotadd as transport option.
GUI - Select VMware policy in qustion - go to VMware tab. Ensure only NBD is selected as transport method (remove hotadd).
What version of netbackup are you running ?

But do you think making changes to entire policy will effect. Because other servers from same policy are completing successfully.
1. Version of NBU: 7.6.1
2. nbd and hotadd are checked

Hotadd is rarley used for vmware backups - can yo deselect for testing ?
