Vm backup is failing with file read error 13 status

Hello,

Netbackup version is 771

OS is Linux.

I have one VM(file system) with 9TB size. Its backup is failing with error:

socket read failed error 62, timer expired

file read failed with 13.

I increase time read and time out vaule but still same issue. On Vcenter i see snapshot created successfully.

I recently moved many  server from BEX to Netbackup. and only having backup issue for one server. Rest all's backup running fine.

Server having backup issue on Netbackup had no issue on BEX server.

Please provide solution.

Are you backing this vm up with a vmware policy of standard?

Have you enabled accelerator?

Decreasing the OS tcp keep alive time to under 5 minutes some times can migate these 62 errors. In this case it should probably be done on the ESX hosts and the backup system hosts.

The 62 is caused by bpdbm on the master timing out waiting for update from the client as far as I remember. Pretty sure I have seen a technote about this issue.

Have you tuned the raw buffer size on the backup host to the recommend size for your vmware version ?
