The master (Linux) and the Netbackup backup host (Windows 2008) running on NetBackup 7.5.0.1. We have vpshere 5

problem; VMware policy NBU restore error (2820)

When I do a restore in which I explicitly the storage pool and restore the storage configuration DRS presume then the restore works fine.

But once I take the datastore for (silver) and the DRS configuration storage, aborts the restore.

any ideas

We have always tried to restore via the san. It does not work.

So we did the restore using the Restore network I.O.

I've experienced similar issue that bpVMutil.exe crashes in process of creating VM. Check Application Log on VMware Recovery Host whether crash was reported.

And, try "Remove backing information for devices like DVD/CD-ROM drives, serial or parallel ports" option.

I've also tried this but without success. I have now looked in the log bpVMutil and have since received the following message.
