Vmware backup requirement

Hi Folk,

 

First time i am going to trying for Vmvare backup using 7.5.0.1.I have master & medis server is running with solaris 10 o.s.As per Vm-ware document we need for proxy host with windows 2003 or 2008.I have installed one windows host our stantared netbackup client installation method then added in host property in Vmware Access host as windows server name.But its not displaying in the place of media server or client place for thats vmware access host name.

 

Please let us where Vmware access host will display.We have below licence and hope it should enough for Vmware backup????

VMware backup host is not displayed as it is except in Master server host properties -> VMware Access Hosts(where you add it).

Just proceed next step - restart NetBackup, add VMware credentials in [Media and Device Management]-[Credentials]-[Virtual Machine Servers], restart NetBackup, and configure backup policies for VM backups.

NBU only shows hosts if they are added in any of policies (active or deactive state)

For Media Server You must registed host with nbemmcmd -add host (verify with nbemmcmd -getemmserver)

You are on right track

Just proceed with further configuration as outlined in admin guide

add credentials, recycle NBU services

configure VMware backup policy
