Hi,
I've testing Vmware backup using application protection for exchange, ang keep getting error Status 50.
Setup:
Client SBS 2011 with Exchange 2010 running on Vmware ESXi4.1
Netbackup server 2008 R2, NBU 7.5.0.1 Master and Media server.
Policy setup:
Filtered out so the only VM selected is DC01, this is the SBS server.

Error 50 is way too generic and basically means the job was kill from the client side, why you dont turn on this logs:
Virtual Machine logs:
<netbackup install>\logs\bpfis (for snapshot creation)
<netbackup install>\logs\bpcd (for snapshot creation)
<netbackup install>\logs\bpbkar (for backup host)
<netbackup install>\logs\nbproxy (for policy config)
<netbackup install>\logs\ncfnbcs (for Query Builder or Auto VM Selection OID 366)
Backup Host or Recover Host logs:
<netbackup install>\logs\bpVMutil (for policy config)
Get this logs created and run a backup than search under each file for the error tag (<16>) and see if there is something more useful that we can use.
Sorry cannot help that much but with more data we can make it.
Regards.

i'd similar prob using query based selection. i simply switched to manual VM selection (bit hectic if large group of VMs are hosted) and backup went f9
make sure VMware tools are installed within VM. This is must requirement

Hi,
I am facing the same problem with NBU 7.5.0.3 and SQL.
VMware tools installed, Symantec VSS provider as well in the virtual SQL server.
Will enable logging and post them tomorrow.

Martijn

Anyone find a fix for this? I'm having the exact same problem!
VMware tools installed, Symantec VSS provider as well in the virtual SQL server.

Symantec is aware of this issue, you need to open a support case.

This fix does not solve the application integration failures.
