Any one knows what will happen to a Volume shadow copy disk on a VM during full and incremental backups? VM is W2K8 R2 with a boot disk + data disk + Vol Shadow Copy disk which keeps snapshots for data disk. A new VSS snapshot is created each day and oldest snapshot deleted when Vol shadow copy disk needs more space.

Try reading this rather old tech note: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH72361
If there is space enough I don't think there will happen anything.
Pls be aware VSS is a Microsoft component - Netbackup can't change the way VSS work.

Thanks Nicolai.
My questions are more around
1) Will Netbackup include the VSS disk in its backups? I think it would include it like a normal VMDK and thus I need to include it in my sizing. I have about 60TB worth of VSS disks in the environment.
2) What type of recovery would be possible from VSS disks? I think it will only used when a full VM is being restored. A Full VM will restore all VSS snapshots as they were. No file level recovery would be possible from the VSS disk
Anything else related to VSS disk on a VM which I should be aware of when design my soluition - what have others experienced.
