The "Change Journal databases mutex" error message is likely not the root cause, which would have happened later.  Can we see all the Job Details?

If you decide to open a Support case, have these items ready:

  • The bpfis log from the VMWare backup host, preferably verbose:
Open the Backup,Archive, and Restore (BAR) application.
       Choose File>NetBackup Client Properties
       Click the Troubleshooting Tab
By default, the settings are zero
Set the General Debug Level  to 2
Set the Global (Verbose) Debug Level to 5
Click OK to save the changes. Re-create the error and pull the \NetBackup\logs\bpfis log
  • Run nbsu on the VMWare backup host:  /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/support/nbsu –c -t
The script will create an output file and tell you where he put it.
  • The Job Details.

Note also, it is best if NetBackup is at least at the 7.5.0.5 level for vCenter 5.1.  Very limited support in 7.5.0.4 and none at all prior to that.

The problem now is that the policy don't post events to vcenter. It does'nt appear the "create a snapshot" in the task & events. The NB_LAST_BACKUP is empty.

The policy has the postvcenter events like "AllEvents"
